IECA operations manager aims to improve processes for the ESC community.
QUINN SEAWALT HAS A passion for steering organizational operations. Born and raised in Colorado, he attended the University of Colorado–Boulder, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and marketing.
Seawalt interned with a tech startup and a short-term car-leasing company, where he developed an interest in operations and process management. “I liked seeing a process—the structural flow of an operation—and how I could improve it,” he says.
After college, Seawalt moved to San Diego to work with an electric-vehicle startup. When he later returned to Denver, a chance meeting with IECA CEO Samantha Roe led him to apply to an open position with the association. He joined IECA as manager of operations in December 2025.
Today, Seawalt supports IECA’s internal operations through responsibilities spanning accounting, human resources, and office administration. I do anything [related to] how the money is paid, transferred, deposited, and recorded,” he says. His role makes him a central point of connection across the office, helping keep internal processes moving and ensuring staff have what they need, from routine office support to coordinating employee events and celebrations.
Seawalt is enjoying his first exposure to the erosion and sediment control profession and nonprofit work. “It was nice to transfer to an industry where it seems like everyone is trying to achieve a common goal,” he says.
He also values the financial responsibility that comes with working for an association. “Being a nonprofit, everything we spend has to make sense. We can’t spend excessively, and it has to be for the right reasons,” he says. “It’s nice to have ownership of that fiscal responsibility.”
Seawalt plans to continue working behind the scenes at IECA, tracking costs, assessing association benefits, improving internal processes, and identifying opportunities for growth. “I like what I’m doing, who I’m working with, and the objective of the organization,” he says. “I want to make sure I’m tackling new challenges, whether it’s in education, sales, or marketing. In operations, I can touch a little bit of everything.”
As a Colorado native, Seawalt enjoys snowboarding and skiing, visiting Aspen every year as well as Vail, Breckenridge, and Winter Park. With proper sun protection, he notes, it’s golf, hiking, and “a little bit of fishing” in the summertime.
At IECA, Seawalt appreciates the sense of community. “Our team is super-friendly, super-helpful,” he says. “Our members are just genuinely nice—I haven’t had a bad conversation with any of them. And our board and executive committee are on top of their duties.”
